Confirmation

Well, four actually, if you count the baptism (and we do): The Summer Fair, the Day of Renewal and the Confrimations were all squeezed into one weekend, 'busy' was not the word for it.

NEW YEAR 2016

New Year 2016

With the New Year less than half a day old, many of St Clare's parishioners gathered to celebrate Holy Mass on this 'New Year's Day.' As ever, we  were celebrating the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, the sign of the woman that the Church sets before us each new year

All's Fair in - well not quite love and war, but certainly hard work and graft, and a lot of that goes into the annual Christmas Fair organised by St Clare's School & parish.

This evening (Monday) the boys and girls in KS2 from St Clare's Primary School opened the season of Advent by conducting a Service in church attended by their parents and family.

End of term Mass

The Last Round Up - well, for this school year, anyway, to mark the end of the academic year.

A PARISH SUMMER FUN DAY!

Parish Fun Day

With the end of term having overtaken some schools and with it looming in our own, it was time to begin to wind down and relax. So the parish organised a ‘family fun day’ were parishioners young and old could get together to do fun (silly) things.

AND A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL

Fun Day

The Parish Faith-based youth groups, Seekers & God’s Friends Forever, ended their year in a spectacular fashion with fun and games and high jinx on the church field. Bouncy Castles and the like appeared in profusion, as did ‘nets’ for penalty shootouts.

PEDAL POWER

Hodovo Bike Ride

Blessed once again by glorious blue skies and the heat of the morning sun, wheels truly went into motion to raise funds for Hodovo on Saturday morning as grandparents, parents, children and teachers from St. Clare’s Church and School turned up at Cottam Arena to participate in the ‘Big Ride’ event.

BRAZIL IN FULWOOD

Football

Brazil in Fulwood - well not quite although the sun did shine. It may not have had the razzamatazz of the world cup but there was excitment in plenty for the Deanery Football Tournament organised by Fr Carden at Corpus Christi High School.
