On All Saints' Day it was a joy to receive into the Church two saints in the making.
Vivienne and Jen had been preparing to become Catholic for the last year or so, and normally would have been received into full communion with the Church at Easter. As we were all on lockdown at the time, they had an extended time to prepare! But finally, after a long period of prayer, discernment and learning, they were able to be fully initiated as Catholics. All Saints' Day was a beautiful day to celebrate their reception, confirmation and first Holy Communion. This feast reminds us that we belong to a family of God which spans heaven and earth. As members of the Communion of the Saints we pray for one another and encourage each other in holiness. Please keep Jen and Vivienne in your prayers in the time ahead. Like everyone else, they are looking forward to getting back to the sacraments when the new lockdown ends. And if you, or someone you know, would like to know more about the Catholic faith, don't hesitate to get in touch.
