On Friday parishioners gathered at Deepdale, home of Preston North End, for a special 50th anniversary meal.
We enjoyed a wonderful three-course meal, but even more so the opportunity to spend some quality time with each other, especially after all the restrictions of the past two years. Last November the parish was 50 years old, but celebrations have been delayed by a few months due to the pandemic. So our belated 50th anniversary meal was a great chance to catch up with each other.
On the screens around the room there were images of parish life over the years - for some, a real trip down memory lane. Fr Andrew said a few words in appreciation of the parish and all that has been done in our community, centred on Christ, in our first 50 years. There was then a toast - to St Clare's, the next 50 years. A good night was had by all. Ad multos annos!
