Parish Meeting

Tonight about 35 parishioners gathered for the second of our parish meetings. The focus of the meeting was to develop some of the ideas received so far through further discussion.

Jonathan Day, the chair of the parish council gave a brief introduction and explained that the all of the feedback thus far had been analysed and from it 4 main themes had emerged. Those gathered were split into four groups, each discussing a single theme, Education, Consultation, Celebration and Participation with Faith being at the centre of all we do.

There followed some lively discussion on how best to address some of the challenges for our parish and those present were encouraged to commit some time to volunteer and champion some of the ideas. Fr Loughran further emphasised the need for action as talk alone will not sustain our parish for the future or encourage others to join our faithful community.

The meeting concluded with an example of an initiative that one of our parishioners has decided to champion following on from the successful Guild preparations. The Helping Hands initiative aims to help us use our skills and talents for the service of others. Perhaps you would like to get involved with this or any other aspect of the parish, if so let us know!
