Saturday saw the latest Day of Renewal at St Clare's, led by Catholic lay evangelist Gary Stephens.
The day began with Mass at 10am, followed by opportunities for praise and worship, reflection and opportunities for healing prayer and the sacrament of reconciliation. Gary gave two very inspiring talks on the theme, "My grace is sufficient for you; for power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9), drawing on his own experience of suffering and how the Lord's grace has been active in his life. People travel from some distance to attend the days of renewal, and it is always good for the parish to be able to host these important spiritual events. The next one takes place on 14 October, when we will welcome Fr Frankie Mulgrew, a priest of the Diocese of Salford, who will lead the day.
