Once again, on the day the Church celebrated the Solemnity of our Blessed Lady's Assumption into Heaven, a group of St Clare's parishioners gathered together at St Mary's church, Fernyhalgh (our neighbour) to pray together the Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.

High summer (sic) is not the best time to celebrate a patronal feast for so many people are away enjoying a restful holiday in the sunshine (!). However, the middle of August is when the Feast of St Clare falls so we have to make the best of it and honour her as best we can.

Saturday - Vigil of World Youth Day
This time last week we were at the hotel preparing to begin our pilgrimage walk to the vigil site Campus Misericordiae (The Field of Mercy), we set off after lunch, the coach was only able to take us so far before we had to start the long walk to the field of mercy.
