Presentation MassThe boys and girls on the First Confession Programme are heading up to the great day itself on the First Sunday of Advent. Today was a staging post in that journey; the boys and girls at the beginning of Mass received The Act of Contrition and prayed it as part of the Penitential Rite.

Service of remembranceGolden October has declined into sombre November, as Eliot has it in Murder in the Cathedral, and the month of remembrance is upon us. And so it was that on the first Sunday of November a Service was held to pray for the dead and for the bereaved.

oilsThe above title is lifted from the Letter of St James and forms part of the introductory rite to the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. That Sacrament was celebrated at St Clare's on Monday 28th October within a Mass organised by the St Vincent de Paul Society. They provided transport for some of our less mobile parishioners and lunch afterwards in the Parish Hall for those who wanted it.
