Those of you who follow the Parish Website will know that the Parish has 'adopted' a school in Boznia Herzegovina in a little village called Hodovo. Hodovo has attached to it a small Refugee Settlement. The UN now refer to these people as IDPs - Internally Displaced Persons. They were 'ethnically cleansed' from other parts of the former Yugoslavia and ended up in this non-too-hospitalble place.

Day 4: Monday 30th May 2011: Six stalwart walkers set off, at a ‘cracking pace’ from Beaumont Bridge at Skerton for the last ‘leg’ of the End2End Canal Walk.

8:00am on Sunday morning! A ‘solo’ walker today, I left Cabus on a grey, windy and damp morning heading for the Skerton district of Lancaster.

The Walk resumed at White Horse Bridge and continued north to Bilsborrow, passing ‘Owd Nells’ on the way. From here the vista opened out to a splendid view of the Bleasdale Fell.

The first day of the End2End Sponsored Walk for the parish's Hodovo Project, along the Lancaster Canal, got off to a good start at 9:30am on Friday 27th May.
