On Sunday 20 November, our parish along with the universal Church, celebrated the feast of Christ the King, on this day the Church invites young people to be at the heart of our celebration of National Youth Sunday.
This year we also celebrated the closing of the Year of Mercy. This year's theme for National Youth Sunday was "Celebrating Mercy". Over the last year our young people from the youth groups have been learning so much about mercy. On some on the Tuesday evenings they have been carrying out the corporal acts of mercy. So for this year’s National Youth Sunday our young people have been celebrating all the work they have done over the past twelve months.
In that period our young people have learnt that a merciful person meets people’s basic needs, heals wounds and forgives wrongdoing; they have understood that God’s mercy is seen in the redeeming work of Jesus.
The youth presence at St. Clare’s is vibrant and growing, our young people are committed to learning about God, making connections, and having fun. This is only possible with the help and support of those adults that volunteer week in and week out to work with our young people, so we take this opportunity to thank them for their work.
